I’ll be going by K* in this narrative. I’m the would-be “other mother” or non-biological parent in this story. The star of the show, the would-be biological mother, is my beautiful wife A*.
We first met back in 2009. It was a rocky start and A* nicknamed me frosty-box because of it. We were both just out of long term relationships and it took a while to make things work. By early 2010 we were in full swing, it was my first “out and proud” relationship and we were madly in love, still are. In 2014 we said “I do” in our seaside home on the East Coast of Canada. Right now our family consists of us and our two amazing kittens (read: full grown cats). We can’t imagine loving any little creatures more than we love those girls but everyone says it’s possible.
We have always wanted children and after 4 years of marriage we’ve decided to go for it. We’ve been waiting for the time to be perfect, for the stars and moon to align, for the ducks to stay in their rows, but I don’t know if that will ever happen. We’re not perfect and we don’t yet have everything worked out, but we do have all the love in our hearts to give.
